7.8.1 On/Off
Turns the limiter on or off.
7.8.2 Attack
Attack time is adjustable from 10
milliseconds to 1 second per 10 dB
of overdrive.
7.8.3 Release
Release rate is adjustable from 100
milliseconds to 10 seconds per 10
dB or release.
7.8.4 Threshold
Absolute voltage threshold is ad-
justable from 12 Vpk to 255 Vpk in 1
volt steps.
7.9 Average Power
Limiter
Limits the long-term power output
from the amp. The actual output
limiter threshold is determined by
an absolute power threshold and
the nominal load impedance set-
ting. There are five parameters which
control this limiter.
7.9.1 On/Off
Turns the limiter on or off.
7.9.2 Average Power
Threshold
The threshold is adjustable from 10
to 1000 watts.*
7.9.3 Nominal Load
Impedance
The nominal load impedance is ad-
justable from 1 to 1000 ohms, and
should be set to correspond to the
nominal impedance rating of the load
connected to the respective chan-
nel.
7.9.4 Attack Time
Adjustable from 1 second to 30 sec-
onds in 1 second increments.
7.9.5 Release Time
Adjustable from 1 second to 30 sec-
onds in 1 second increments.
7.10 Clip Eliminator
This limiter eliminates amplifier clip-
ping by monitoring IOC signals. The
only control for this limiter is
On/Off
.
7.11 Thermal Limiter
A thermal limiter is provided to limit
amplifier output as a function of avail-
able thermal headroom, allowing
smooth system level reduction while
preventing amplifier overload. There
are four parameters which control
this feature:
7.11.1 On/Off
Turns the thermal limiter on or off.
7.11.2 Threshold
Sets the thermal level, in percent,
above which limiting will begin. The
range is from 1 to 100%.
7.11.3 Attenuation
Sets the amount, in dB, that the input
signal level will be attenuated for
each percentage point that the ther-
mal level exceeds the trigger level.
The range is ½ to 6 dB in ½-dB
steps.
7.12 Signal Mute
The output signal of each channel
can be independently muted. This
function typically provides 80 dB or
more of attenuation.
* The average power threshold should
be set per the loudspeaker’s “long-
term” power rating (consult your
speaker documentation).
