The on board ADCs are 8-bit converter. They are able to read a voltage level in the range of 0 - 2 volts
applied on the ADC pin input, store and convert it into 8 bit word.

DAC Converter
The on board DAC is a 16 bit converter, able to generate an analogue value based a specific input in
the range from 0 up to 65536. However, an external low-pass filter is necessary. See the HW User
Guide for the details.
