Chapter 1
Introduction
Overview
This manual provides installation and operating instructions for the
9083 HD/SD Frame Sync with Audio Embedding/De-Embedding and Dolby
®
Decoding Option card (also referred to herein as the 9083).
Note:
This manual also covers the 9083-DEC, which is the 9083 card equipped with
Dolby
®
decoding as an option. Where applicable, descriptions related exclu-
sively to either the 9083 or the 9083-DEC are respectively denoted by (9083
only) or (9083-DEC only). In all other aspects, both the 9083 and 9083-DEC
function identically as described in this manual.
This manual consists of the following chapters:

Chapter 1, “Introduction” – Provides information about this manual
and what is covered. Also provides general information regarding the
9083.

Chapter 2, “Installation and Setup” – Provides instructions for
installing the 9083 in a frame, and optionally installing 9083 Rear I/O
