The VX-1HDMI-IR optical extender is a single fiber HDMI extender that can send
1 channel of HDMI and 1 channel of IR serial data up to 10 km. The extenders
are low profile units that transport over standard multimode or singlemode
fiber using LC type optical connectors for a secure cable connection. LC
connectors are the smallest and most widely used type. This allows the easiest
installation possible through conduit or wall/ceiling mounted boom arms.
Video resolutions up to 1080p 60Hz and graphic resolutions up to 1920x1200
are possible over a single fiber. Both HDMI and IR data can be extended out
without the need for distribution amplifiers, cable equalization or in-line
repeaters that are normally associated with copper cable extension. The VX-
1HDMI-IR is the most economical solution for sending a single channel of HDMI
video over long distances.
The VX-1HDMI-IR can work on any digital display and provide video resolutions
up to 1080p 60Hz or graphics resolutions up to 1920x1200. EDID is managed
by maintaining continuous EDID communication with the source, ensuring
that it powers up properly and maintains video output. For HDMI signals
with protected content, the VX-1HDMI-IR continuously authenticates HDCP
compliance to support quick and reliable transmission across a fiber optic
infrastructure.
