5.4 PA parameters
The following parameter listing and function
diagram is used for setup with the automation
system if there is no adjustment software
available. The listing represents parameters
of the function block and transducer block
and should only be used by experienced
Profibus technicians. Keep in mind that all
VEGA sensors are profile 3 sensors. You will
more likely carry out the setup of the sensors
with the user-friendly VEGA adjustment soft-
ware VVO or with the adjustment module
MINICOM in the sensor.
PA parameters and function diagram are
normally not necessary for setup.
5.3 Failure rectification
Error Corrective measure
E 013 Sensor does not find a - Message is displayed during the warm-up
level echo phase.
- If the message remains, the DK value of the
medium might be too low.
Check the useful level and noise level.
See "4.2 Adjustment with adjustment module

If the message still remains, carry out a new
adjustment.
E 017 Adjustment span too small Carry out the adjustment again. Make sure that
the difference between min. and max. adjust-
ment is at least 10 mm.
E 036 Software update incorrect Return the instrument for repair.
- Sensor requires programming (service).
- Failure message appears also during
programming.
E 040 Hardware failure/ Check all connection cables.
Electronics defective Contact our service department.
