ADVENTURE RACK
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WAR 833
1. Remove spare tire from the rear of the tailgate.
2. Remove the outer most bolts on the tailgate side of the hinge.
(Both upper and lower)
3. Install passenger side leg over the tailgate hinge using the new
longer bolts provided. Do not tighten the bolts at this time.
(Bolt, lock washer, then flat washer)
4. This installation utilizes a 5/16” bolt to hold the leg to the
tailgate. Warrior recommends drilling the required holes with a
close fitting bit size. (21/64” or 11/32”)
5. On the latch side of the tailgate (see figure "A") drill your hole 1/2" from the
side & 1/2" from the bottom of the tailgate. It is a good idea to use the leg to
make these hole marks to make sure it is level with the opposing sides leg as
well.
6. Drill your second hole 1/2" from the side and 14 3/8" from the bottom of the
tailgate. (see figure "A")
7. Install driver’s side leg. Bolts are installed from inside of the tailgate pointing
out. (see figure "B") This will sandwich over some of your weather stripping
but should not cause any leakage issues. Top bolt has a small flat washer next to
bolt head (provided). Bottom bolt has large flat washer. Do not tighten bolts at
this time.
8. Install basket on top of the legs. Use the provided 3/8” hardware to bolt the two
together.
9. Install lower brackets to bottom of legs using quick release pins. Mark drilling
holes on the vehicle body where the bracket is positioned. Be sure these are
positioned so that they do not interfere with the open and closing of the tailgate.
10. Remove brackets and drill a 1/8" hole where marked. Install bracket using quick
release pins before securing brackets with self tapping screws.
11. Tighten all bolts and check to be sure the Rack is securely attached to the rear of the vehicle. If you have bolted
the rack only to your tailgate and not to the quick release brackets under the tailgate a 50lb. weight limit is
advised. ENJOY YOUR NEW RACK!
