INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WAR 842
'84 - '99 Cherokee
(with gutter mounts)
Read all instructions before proceeding.
The suggested weight capacity is 400 lbs., with weight distributed evenly over the entire area of
the rack. If severe off road conditions are prevalent, because of side sway on severe side hill
driving conditions, capacity should not exceed 150 lbs.
1. Assemble the two halves of the Basket using the four 1 _” X 7/16” bolts provided. Once
assembled, position the Warrior decal centered across the joints on each side and press on.
2. Assemble the four (4) gutter brackets per the sample already assembled in your kit.
3. Install gutter brackets on Jeep gutters starting with the rear first. Top holes of brackets should
be approximately 22” from the rear of the Jeep.
4. Install forward gutter brackets approximately 36 _” forward from the center of top mounting
holes.
5. Tighten carriage bolts until clamps are tight on the gutters at all four corners.
6. Lift basket in place on top of the brackets and then adjust basket to center; forward to back and
left to right. Then mark each cross tube where it crosses the cross bar so each cross tube can be
drilled. Remove basket for drilling. Use a 3/8” drill bit to drill a total of 8 holes.
7. Reinstall basket using the eight (8) bolts, washers, and nuts provided. Tighten securely.
8. Check tightness of the carriage bolt before tightening the 1” bolts on the gutter brackets.
9. After a test drive, re-check tightness of all bolts and your done!
