Note March 1 1995, Spicer D344/404/405/454 series axles were built with a thicker variable pinion spacer different from the original design, axles
built before this date used a “two” washer setup. This “two” washer setup is comprised of a spacer washer (127565) and a variable pinion bearing spacer
(part number by thickness).
When servicing the above models, select a variable pinion bearing spacer from the list below to attain the correct pinion bearing preload. All procedures
on “Pinion Bearing Preload” remain the same and the proper steps should be followed according to your Spicer Service Manual. If you have an
existing 127565 spacer washer, do not use it with the new variable pinion bearing spacers listed below.
Spacer washer 127565 is no longer available and has been removed from all service kits. The current variable pinion bearing spacers listed above are
sold separately or available in listed pinion bearing spacer kit.
