Glossary

G

GPI

Abbreviation for General Purpose Interface. This refers to a device used as an
communication interface with the EVS server. It has digital lines which may be used for
input, output, or both, depending on the function.

H

Hypermotion camera

These are cameras that record at a frame rate much higher than real time. The content
recorded at high frame rate on a memory block of the camera buffer is ingested into the
EVS server through a single record channel when the operator initiates a play command
on the camera. Hypermotion cameras can be controlled by an LSM Remote Panel.

I

Intra-frame codec

Codec type for which the compression techniques are performed relative to information
contained within the current frame, and not relative to any other frame in the video
sequence. It is shortened by 'intra' in the manual. This is opposed to long-GOP codecs.
