Climbing and mountaineering helmet
Limitations on use
This helmet is designed for climbing and mountaineering. Do not use
it in activities for which it is not designed (motorized sports, cycling,
etc.).
WARNING
Activities involving the use of this equipment are inherently
dangerous.
You are responsible for your own actions and decisions.
Before using this equipment, you must:
- Read and understand all Instructions for use.
- Get specifi c training in its proper use.
- Become acquainted with its capabilities and limitations.
- Understand and accept the risks involved.
FAILURE TO HEED ANY OF THESE WARNINGS MAY RESULT IN
SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH.
You should know
Activities at height carry a signifi cant risk of serious head injury.
Wearing a helmet can substantially reduce this risk, but does not
entirely eliminate it.
A major blow or impact can destroy a helmet; in this case, the helmet
plays its role by absorbing the maximum amount of energy possible,
deforming to the breaking point.
ATTENTION: Due to its light weight design, this helmet is vulnerable
to damage from improper care. Do not sit on the helmet, force it into
a pack, drop it, or allow it to come into contact with pointed objects,
etc...
Do not expose your helmet to high temperatures, for example by
leaving it inside a vehicle in direct sunlight.
Nomenclature
(1) Shell, (2) Headband, (3) Headband adjustment clips, (4) Chinstrap
positioner, (5) Chinstrap buckle, (6) Inserts for faceshield mounting,
(7) Headlamp clips, (8) I.D. zone.
Principal materials: shell made of expanded polystyrene and
polycarbonate, straps made of polyester.
Inspection, points to verify
Verify before each use that the interior and exterior of the shell is
not cracked or deformed, that the headband attachment system is
undamaged, and that the headband adjustment system and chinstrap
buckle are working properly.
WARNING a major impact can cause invisible internal damage to your
helmet and signifi cantly reduce its protective properties. Retire your
helmet after a major impact.

Instructions for use
Adjustments
Headband
Put the helmet on your head, pinch the two headband adjustment
clips (3) and adjust the headband for a comfortable fi t.
You can adjust the positioning of the headband on the nape of the neck
by sliding it up or down on the webbing.
The helmet should fi t snugly and not move about on the head. A
poorly-adjusted helmet will not provide effective protection.
Chinstrap
Fasten the chinstrap using the chinstrap buckle (5). A well-adjusted
chinstrap reduces the risk of the helmet coming off. Use the chinstrap
positioners (4) to adjust the chinstrap forward or backward as needed.
Modifi cations
Modifi cations are forbidden because they may result in a reduction or
loss of the helmet’s protective properties (loose CE certifi cation).
No repair to it should be made.
WARNING: Stickers, markers, paints, etc. may contain ingredients that
can damage the helmet and reduce its protective properties. Before
applying any of these products to the helmet, verify their compatibility
with expanded polystyrene and polycarbonate.
I.D. zone, Emergency information
The I.D. zone provides a place on the inside of the shell where personal
information may be recorded: Name, Telephone number, Allergies,
Blood type, Contact person.

Casque d’escalade et d’alpinisme
Champ d’application
Casque conçu pour l’escalade et l’alpinisme. N’utilisez pas ce casque
lors d’activités pour lesquelles il n’a pas été conçu (sports motorisés,
vélo, etc.).
ATTENTION
Les activités impliquant l’utilisation de ce produit sont par nature
dangereuses.

Avant d’utiliser ce produit, vous devez :

- Vous former spécifi quement à l’utilisation de ce produit.

Le non-respect d’un seul de ces avertissements peut-être la cause
de blessures graves ou mortelles.
Vous devez savoir
La pratique d’activités en hauteur comporte des risques graves pour
la tête. Le port du casque réduit fortement ces risques, mais il ne peut
pas les exclure.
Pour des chocs très violents, le casque joue un rôle en absorbant le
maximum d’énergie en se déformant, parfois jusqu’à la rupture.
Attention, de part sa conception, ce casque est sensible aux mauvais
traitements : ne vous asseyez pas dessus, ne le comprimez pas dans le
sac, ne le laissez pas tomber, attention aux objets pointus…
N’exposez pas votre casque à des températures élevées par exemple
en plein soleil dans une voiture.

Contrôle, points à vérifi er
Vérifi ez avant toute utilisation, l’état de la calotte (absence de fi ssure et
déformation à l’extérieur ou à l’intérieur (polystyrène)), le système de
fi xation du tour de tête, le fonctionnement du réglage du tour de tête et
le fonctionnement de la boucle de la jugulaire.
ATTENTION après un choc important, des ruptures internes non
apparentes peuvent diminuer la capacité d’absorption et la résistance
du casque. Mettez votre casque au rebut après un choc important.

Mode d’emploi
Réglages
Tour de tête
Placez le casque sur votre tête, pincez les deux clips de réglage (3) et
serrez le tour de tête pour une tenue confortable.
Vous pouvez régler la position du tour de tête sur la nuque en le faisant
glisser sur les sangles vers le bas ou vers le haut.
Un casque ne doit pas bouger en avant, ni en arrière, ni latéralement.
Un casque mal réglé ne pourra pas fournir une protection effi cace.
Jugulaire
Fermez la jugulaire munie d’une boucle à serrage rapide (5). Une
jugulaire bien serrée limite le risque de décoiffement. Les passants
latéraux (4) permettent un réglage personnalisé d’avant en arrière.
Modifi cations
Toute modifi cation est à proscrire car l’effi cacité du produit peut être
réduite et
a pour conséquence de perdre la certifi cation CE.
Toute réparation est interdite.
Les colles des autocollants ou les peintures ont parfois des
composants qui peuvent avec le temps, altérer les qualités physiques
du casque. Vérifi ez la compatibilité de ces produits avec le polystyrène
expansé et le polycarbonate.
Zone d’identifi cation, Informations pour le secours
Vous disposez d’une zone d’identifi cation à l’intérieur de la calotte pour
écrire vos coordonnées : Nom, Téléphone, Allergies, Groupe sanguin,
Personne à contacter.

Verwendungseinschränkungen
Dieser Helm wurde zum Klettern und Bergsteigen entworfen.
Verwenden Sie ihn nicht für Aktivitäten, für die er nicht entworfen
wurde (Motorsport, Mountainbiken usw.).
WARNUNG
Aktivitäten, bei denen diese Ausrüstung zum Einsatz kommt, sind
naturgemäß gefährlich.
Für Ihre Handlungen und Entscheidungen sind Sie selbst
verantwortlich.
Vor dem Gebrauch dieser Ausrüstung müssen Sie:
- Die Gebrauchsanleitung vollständig lesen und verstehen.
- Eine fachgerechte Unterweisung zur richtigen Benutzung erhalten.
- Sich mit den Möglichkeiten und Einschränkungen der Ausrüstung
vertraut machen.

Beachten Sie Folgendes:
Aktivitäten in der Höhe können ein beträchtliches Risiko von schweren
Kopfverletzungen bergen. Das Tragen eines Helms kann dieses Risiko
zwar deutlich reduzieren, jedoch nicht ausschließen.
Bei extremen Schlägen oder Auftreffen gegen ein Hindernis kann der
Helm zerstört werden. In diesem Fall erfüllt der Helm seine Funktion,
indem er dafür sorgt, dass ein Maximum an Energie absorbiert wird.
Dies geschieht durch Verformung, was bis zum Bruch des Helms
führen kann.
ACHTUNG: Aufgrund seiner leichten Konstruktion kann der Helm durch
unsachgemäße Handhabung beschädigt werden. Setzen Sie sich nicht
auf den Helm, stopfen Sie ihn nicht gewaltsam in den Rucksack und
halten Sie spitze Gegenstände usw. fern.
Setzen Sie den Helm keinen hohen Temperaturen aus, beispielsweise,
indem Sie ihn bei direkter Sonneneinstrahlung im Auto lassen.
Benennung der Teile
(1) Helmschale, (2) Kopfband, (3) Einstellungsclips für Kopfband,
(4) Kinnbandeinstellung, (5) Kinnschnalle, (6) Öffnungen für
Gesichtsschutz, (7) Stirnlampenclips, (8) Bereich zum Anbringen von
Kennzeichnungen.
Materialien: Helmschale aus geschäumten Styropor und Polycarbonat,
Riemen aus Polyester.
Zu kontrollierende Punkte
Stellen Sie vor jeder Verwendung des Helms sicher, dass die Innen-
und Außenseite der Helmschale nicht gebrochen oder deformiert ist,
dass das Befestigungssystem für das Kopfband unbeschädigt ist und
dass die Kinnschnalle einwandfrei funktioniert.
WARNUNG: Ein schwerer Schlag kann ihren Helm so beschädigen,
dass dies für das bloße Auge nicht sichtbar ist und dessen
Schutzeigenschaften beträchtlich einschränken. Sondern Sie Ihren
Helm nach einem solchen Zwischenfall aus.
Die genauen Anleitungen zur Überprüfung der jeweiligen PSA-
Komponenten (Persönliche Schutzausrüstung) fi nden Sie im Internet
unter www.petzl.com/ppe oder auf der PETZL PSA-CD-ROM. Sollten
hinsichtlich des Zustands eines Produkts Zweifel bestehen, wenden
Sie sich an Petzl.
Gebrauchsanleitung
Einstellung
Kopfband
Setzen Sie den Helm auf, drücken Sie die beiden Einstellungsclips für
das Kopfband (3) zwischen Daumen und Zeigefi nger zusammen und
stellen Sie das Kopfband auf ein bequeme Passform ein.
Sie können die Position des Kopfbands auf dem Nackenband
verändern, indem Sie das Nackenband herauf- oder herunterschieben.
Der Helm sollte dicht am Kopf anliegen und nicht leicht verrutschen.
Ein schlecht eingestellter Helm bietet keinen effektiven Schutz.
Kinnband
Befestigen Sie das Kinnband mit der Kinnbandschnalle (5). Ein genau
angepasstes Kinnband sorgt dafür, dass der Helm nicht vom Kopf
rutschen kann. Verwenden Sie die Kinnbandeinstellungen (4), um das
Kinnband gegebenenfalls nach vorne oder nach hinten zu verstellen.
Modifi kationen
Modifi kationen sind nicht zulässig, da sie zu einer Verminderung
bzw. zu einem Verlust der Schutzfunktion des Helms führen können
(Aufhebung der CE-Zertifi zierung).
Nehmen Sie auch keine Reparaturarbeiten am Helm vor.
WARNUNG: Aufkleber, Marker, Farben usw. enthalten
möglicherweise Inhaltsstoffe, die den Helm beschädigen und seine
Schutzeigenschaften verringern können. Bevor Sie solche Produkte
am Helm anbringen, stellen Sie sicher, dass sie für Styropor und
Polycarbonat geeignet sind.
