Managing Over The Network
3-3
If your network is internal to your organization
only, you may use any arbitrary IP address. We sug-
gest you use addresses in the series 191.100.X.Y,
where X and Y are numbers between 1 and 254.
Use 191.101.X.Y for the SLIP address.
If your network has a connection to the external IP
network, you will need to apply for a registered IP
address. This system ensures that every IP address
used is unique; if you do not have a registered IP
address, you may be using an identical address to
someone else and your network will not operate
correctly.
