Troubleshooting
Problem Cause Solution
Camera will not
operate Power is not turned
on • Press the power button for a
moment.
SD card slot/battery
cover is open • Confirm that the SD card slot/
battery cover is securely closed.
Insufficient battery
voltage • Insert a fully charged battery into
the camera.
• Use the AC Adapter Kit ACK-DC10
(sold separately).
Poor contact
between camera and
battery terminals • Wipe the terminals with a clean
dry cloth.
Camera will not
record Mode switch is set
(Playback)

• The indicator will light orange
when it is charged. You can then
press the shutter button.
SD card is full • Insert a new SD card.
• If required, download the images
to a computer and erase them
from the SD card to make space.
SD card is not

• If reformatting does not work, the
SD card logic circuits may be

SD card is write-
protected. • Slide the write-protect tab of the
SD card upward (p. 23).
Cannot play back You attempted to play
back images shot
with another camera
or images edited with
a computer • Computer images that cannot be
played back will play back if they are

File name was

computer or file
