If the handset
wll not be used
for a long tme,
dsconnect and
remove the battery
to prevent possble
leakage.

Battery installation and charging
Install the battery as shown below. After nstallng the battery, you mght be able
to make and receve short calls. For best performance, charge the handset for
at least 16 hours before use. When the battery power s low, the handset wll
beep, dsplay
LOW BATTERY and will flash on the handset screen. Place the
handset n the telephone base or charger to charge the battery when not n use.
See the table on page 53 for battery operatng tmes.
If the battery s depleted, t may take approxmately four mnutes to charge the
handset before t can resume screen dsplay. The screen wll contnue to dsplay
LOW BATTERY untl the battery has been charged for approxmately one hour.
