CDMA - Code Division Multiple Access. Digital cellular phone technology.
DDNS - Dynamic Domain Naming System
DHCP - Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
Dial Tone - The tone heard when a phone receiver is off-hook.
DMZ - Demilitarized Zone. A perimeter network area (subnetwork) that acts as a buffer
between an internal network and an external network such as the Internet.
DTMF - Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency. The standard keytones used by telephones in tone dialing.
DUN - Dial-Up Networking.
EVDO - Evolution Data Optimized. Broadband (3G) data transmission technology utilizing
CDMA networks.
LAN - Local Area Network.
MDMF - Multiple Data Message Format. A caller ID format in which several elements of
information can be included in the caller ID, such as a name, a phone number, and a location.
MO - Mobile Originated call
MT - Mobile Terminated call
NAT - Network Access Translator
PDP - Packet Data Protocol
POTS - Plain Old Telephone Set
PPTP - Point to Point Transfer Protocol
