Black or white lines appear
on the print side.

The charger and dust-proofing glass are dirty. Clean
the charger and dust-proofing glass.

Smeared toner appears on
the printed side.

The charger is dirty. Clean the charger.

Part of the printout is blurred
or light.

If the message “TONER LOW XXX” is on the panel dis-
play, replace the toner cartridge for the indicated color.

Toner is not fused well when
printing on thick paper or
OHP transparencies.

The printer is not in thick paper or OHP transparency
mode. Select thick paper or OHP transparency mode
using the printer driver. For more information, see the
"User's Guide”.

The color of the printout
doesn't match the color on
the computer's display.

The toner based color system used by the printer is dif-
ferent from the light based color system of the comput-
er screen. For more information, see the "User's
Guide”.

Recalibrate the printer using the operation panel. For
more information, see the "Getting Started”.

Change the printer driver settings. For more informa-
tion, see the "User's Guide”.

Color documents are printed
in black and white.

The printer driver is not set up for color printing.
Change the setting to color printing. For more informa-
tion, see the "User's Guide".

Thin lines are blurred or
light.

Change the halftone settings of the printer driver. For
more information, see the "User's Guide”.

When printing on OHP
transparencies, a sheet of pa-
per is not placed between
printed OHP transparencies.

There is no paper in tray 1. Load the same size and di-
rection paper as the OHP transparency into tray 1.

The "OHP SLIP SHEET” setting is set to "NO”. Change
the setting with operation panel. For more information,
see the "Getting Started”.
