MP3/WMA, CD text and JPEG Navigating Menus
[MP3] [WMA] [CDtext] [JPEG]
You can play a MP3, WMA, CD text or JPEG disc by using the menu.
≥Select the unit viewing channel (or the AV input) on the TV.
≥Switch [VHS/TV/DVD] to “DVD”.
≥If the disc contains both audio data (MP3 and WMA) and JPEG, select “Stills (JPEG)” or “Audio (MP3/WMA)” in “Mixed Disc –
Audio & Stills” (SETUP menu lpage 41).
[1] Press [TOP MENU].
[2] Press [ 34] to select the track or
[ 3421] to select the picture.
≥To display other pages, select “Prev” or “Next” with
[ 3421] and press [ENTER]. After listing all the tracks
or pictures in one group, the list for the next group appears.
≥You can also select the item with the numeric buttons.
Example: “125”; [1] l[2]l[5]
[3] Press [ENTER].
¬ To exit the menu
Press [MENU] (PLAY LIST) or [TOP MENU].
Notes:
[MP3]
≥This unit is not compatible with ID3 tags (
lpage 47).
≥If you play an MP3 track that includes still picture data, it will take some time before the music starts
playing and the elapsed time will not be displayed during this time. Even after the track starts, the
correct play time will not be displayed.
≥MP3 files must have the extension “.MP3” or “.mp3”.
[WMA]
≥You cannot play WMA files that are copy-protected.
≥WMA files must have the extension “.WMA” or “.wma”.
[JPEG]
≥Use a digital camera that meets the DCF (Design rule for Camera File system) standard. Some digital
cameras have functions that are not supported by the DCF standard like automatic picture rotation
which may render a picture un-viewable.
≥Do not alter the files in any way or save them under a different name.
≥JPEG files must have the extension “.JPG”, “.jpg”, “.JPEG”, or “.jpeg”.
≥This unit cannot display moving pictures, MOTION JPEG and other such formats, still pictures other
than JPEG (i.e. TIFF) or play the associated sound.
[MP3] [WMA] [JPEG]
≥Formats that can be used are IS09660 level1 and level 2 (except extended format).
≥
Finalize the disc after recording. A disc that is not finalized may not be played back.
≥This unit is compatible with multi-session ( lpage 47) but if there are a lot of sessions it takes more time
for play to start. Keep the number of sessions to a minimum to avoid this.

Naming folders and files
At the time of recording, prefix folder and file names with 3-digit numbers in the order you want to play
them.
≥Depending on how you create files, they may not play in the order you numbered them or may not
play at all.

WMA is a compression format developed by Microsoft Corporation. It achieves the
same sound quality as MP3 with a file size that is smaller than that of MP3.
