**COMPONENT connection corresponds only to some areas.
When the TV has a COMPONENT terminal, the DVD image will be played
back with higher picture quality in case of COMPONENT connection.
Connect the S-video or the COMPOSITE video cable also in this case.

Select the scanning method of the Component Video output using the
PROGRESSIVE (ACTIVE EQ.) key on the front panel.

Depressed and keep pressing the key. Each time
the key is being held down, the setting changes
as follows.

1 ON
2 OFF

ON: When progressive scanning is unavailable with certain discs, the scanning

method is switched automatically to interlaced scanning. When the scanning
method is changed, the scanning status will be displayed for a few seconds.

OFF: Scanning method is fixed at interlaced scanning.

Example for some areas

The S-Video output terminal of this unit is only for output of the built-in
DVD player. The output of equipment connected to VCR, CABLE/SAT is put
out as a composite signal.
