Videotape Playback Features

Slow Motion

Press k during playback to pause the video-
tape. Then press i / g to start slow
motion playback. Sound will be mute during slow
motion playback. Slow motion playback will stop
automatically after five minutes to prevent damage to
the tape.

Press PLAY B to return to normal playback.
Forward and Reverse Searching
(SP/LP/SLP)

During videotape playback, press and release
i
/ g or j / h. A fast forward or reverse
picture search will begin.

To return to normal playback, press PLAY B .
Super High Speed Searching (LP/SLP)

During tape playback, press i / g or j /
h
, then press again. The TV/VCR/DVD will now
search in super high speed.
Press i / g or j / h repeatedly to switch
between regular and super high speed searching.

To return to normal playback, press PLAY B.
Viewing a Still Picture

During tape playback, press k.
A still picture will appear on the screen. The picture
advances each time you press k.
After a tape is paused for five minutes, playback will
stop automatically. This prevents damage to the tape
and TV/VCR/DVD.

If the still picture vibrates vertically, stabilize
the picture by pressing CH. ▲/▼.

To release the still picture and return to nor-
mal playback, press PLAY B.
• SP/LP/SLP means this feature will
work with tapes recorded in
Standard Play, Long Play, or
Super Long Play. LP/SLP means
this feature will work with tapes
recorded in Long Play and Super
Long Play. Tape speed details
are on page 25.
• During forward and reverse
searching, horizontal noise bars
will appear on the screen.
