Remove the shield for the bay into which you are installing the new drive.

If you are replacing a drive, disconnect the drive cables.

If there is a shipping thumbscrew installed next to the drive release latch, remove
the thumbscrew.

Slide the drive release latch back toward the rear of the case until the unlock icon is
visible.

If you are replacing a drive, slide it forward and out of the drive bay.

Set any jumpers on the new drive. See the drive’s documentation for further
instructions.
