8 Replacing CSS components
This chapter describes how to handle CSS components and how to identify
defective CSS components and replace them yourself.

Further information on the CSS concept is provided in the "Customer
Self Service (CSS)" manual on the ServerView Suite DVD 2.
Upgrades, conversions or replacement of non-CSS components are
described in the Options Guide or in the Service Supplement and may
only be carried out by authorized, qualified personnel.

Follow the safety instructions in the chapter "Important notes" on
page 23 .
In the PRIMERGY BX960 S1 server, the following components are considered
to be CSS components:
– Non-hot-plug components
– SSD drives
– Memory modules
These components can be changed by you in the event of an error.
Enhancements and upgrades may only be carried out by authorized,
qualified personnel. How to replace memory modules is described in the
Options Guide.
