Entering the quick setup mode

You can enter the quick setup mode by following the procedure below.

Select the desired item and press the [ENTER/YES] key.

The current option of the selected item starts flashing and you can now select the
option using the [MENU] dial.

Use the [MENU] dial to select the desired option and press the [ENTER/YES] key.

The selected option is set.

4)

To exit the quick setup mode, press the [EXET/NO] key (or the [STOP/HOME])
key).

See the following for details about each item.

While "-No files!-" is shown on the Home screen, press the [QUICK SET] key.

By default, "

" in the status information area flashes.

In this condition, rotating the [MENU] dial (or pressing the [SKIP/CURSOR

] key) moves the flashing position in the following order.

If you select "Digital" but the unit does not receive correct digital

signals from the [DIGITAL I/0] connector on the rear panel or does not lock to
the digital input signals, "Digital" flashes quickly for warning. When the unit
receive correct digital signals and lock to them, "Digital" is steadily lit.

By selecting "

INPUT

" and pressing the [ENTER/YES] key, you can select the input

signal between "Analog" (default) and " Digital". You can also make input signal
selection via the "Select Input" item in the "SYS SETUP" menu of the MENU
mode (

see page 119 for details

), as well as via the quick setup mode.

Analog

Digital

You can record analog audio signals fed to the [ANALOG INPUT] connectors.

You can record digital audio signals (AES/EBU or S/P DIF) fed to the [DIGITAL I/0]
connector. The unit automatically detects the digital signal format (AES/EBU or S/
P DIF).

When "Digital" is selected, all channels can record digital signals by

default. However, if you want to record analog and digital signals simulta-
neously, set the "Setup digital in" menu item in the "SYS SETUP" menu of the
MENU mode appropriately (

see page 119 for details

). You can select signal source

between analog and digital in two channel pairs.
