Problem:

The CIP connection is up and active but I cannot ping across the
ATM network.

Solution:

Use the following solutions:

Verify that all IP addresses, subnet masks, and gateways are set
correctly on the VLANs and any attached devices

Verify the same subnet mask is being applied to the CIP and VLAN
interfaces.

/ATM/SHOW >cip

/VLAN/SHOW/router

Verify any of the CIP IP addresses must be on a different IP subnet
than those VLANs existing on the HiSpeed switches.

/ATM/SHOW >cip

/VLAN/SHOW/vlan

Verify the VLANs communicating with one another over ATM
belong to different IP subnets. VLANs belonging to the same IP
subnet are not allowed to communicate with one another via CIP.

/VLAN/SHOW/VLAN

If using PVC, verify the VCI values are identical on the HiSpeed
switches. However, the CIP index does not need to be the same on
both switches.

/ATM/SHOW >cip

Verify that RIP is active for CIP and verify all routes are being
learned.

/ATM/SHOW >cip

/INET/SHOW >route
