ATM Troubleshooting Tips
❒
The ATM uplink module must be inserted into the lower PCI slot only.
❒
A multimode fiber (MMF) cable is required for use with the 155 Mbps ATM
uplink OC-3 module.
❒
Bind LANE, PTOP, and Trunking services via the port service
command.
/portserv/config/create 34
❒
Enable ILMI for LANE and signaling.
❒
Employ an external router for communication between logically separate
ELANs for CIP.
❒
Every ELAN must have one unique LES/BUS pair for LANE.
❒
To join a specific ELAN, an ELAN name must be defined.
❒
Ensure the same UNI signaling version is used between the ATM edge
devices and the ATM switch.
❒
When manually entering the ATM address of the switch, omit the AFI prefix
(Ox).
❒
Valid Trunk Indexes range from 0 through 15.
❒
A VCI value is required when configuring PVC connections. Valid VCI
values range from 32 to 1023 (0-31 are reserved by the ATM Forum).
