Printer and COM Warnings
Warning messages may also be displayed during operation of the printer or during transfer of data. The
warning message indicates that the operation could not be completed and that corrective action must be
taken. Instrument operation will continue if a Printer or COM warning is displayed.
The warning messages that may be displayed are described below.
Warning Message Cause
Corrective Action
INT-PRINTER
Either a paper jam has occurred
in the internal printer, or the
print head cannot move.
Add paper or free the print head.
Reset INT PRINTER in the Set Output menu.
EXT-PRINTER
An error condition has occurred
in the external printer.
Consult the printer Operator’s Manual for
assistance.
Reset EXT PRINTER in the Set Output menu.
COM1 or COM2
A timeout occurred during
transfer of data at the COM1 or
COM2 port.
Check the cable connections as the port. If OK,
the reason why data transfer has stopped at the
port must be determined.
Reset COM1 or COM2 to YES in the Set Output
menu.
SYSTEM TESTS
A series of system tests are available to check proper operation of various system components. These tests
are listed below:

Keypad Test
Tests the keypad for correct entered characters.
LCD Test
Tests the display for missing pixels.
LED Test
Tests the LEDs for illumination.
COM1 Test
Tests proper connection to first external source.
COM2 Test
Tests proper connection to second external source.
EXTP Test
Tests the external printer.
INTP Test
Tests the internal printer.
Battery Check
Tests battery charge.
Display Wand
Tests the barcode reader for proper operation.
Beeper
Tests the beeper for audible tone.

PROM Check
Tests the system RAM memory.
Fault Test
View system faults.
Print System
Prints the system test results.
To Display System Information:
1.
Display the second page of the main menu.
2.
Press 7 to display system information.
Note: Version numbers of the system software are displayed. These may be needed for
troubleshooting or ITC Technical Service assistance.
