To configure for using a Network Informa-
tion Service (NIS) server

a. On the

General

tab, select the

Use NIS

server

radio button.

b. In the

NIS domain

text box, enter the name

of the domain from which UNIX user and group
information is obtained.

c. Optionally, in the

NIS server (optional)

text

box, enter the name of the server to map.

d. To specify the length of time the DataSafe NAS

waits to refresh the user and group informa-
tion, enter the time in the

Hours

and

Min-

utes

text boxes.

e. Click

To configure for using password and group
files

a. Select the

Use password and group files

radio button.

b. In the

Password file

text box, enter the name

of the password file to use. (This is a 'passwd'
format file from a UNIX system containing all
the UNIX user accounts that could be
mapped).

c. In the

Group file

text box, enter the name of

the group file to use. (This is a 'passwd' format
file from a UNIX system containing all the UNIX
user accounts that could be mapped).
