Choose whether the battery in the camera or the batteries in the
battery pack are used first when an optional MB-D15 battery
pack is attached. Note that if the MB-D15 is powered by an
optional AC adapter and power connector, the AC adapter will
be used regardless of the option selected.

A The MB-D15 Battery Pack
The MB-D15 takes one EN-EL15 rechargeable Li-ion battery or six AA
alkaline, Ni-MH, or lithium batteries (an EN-EL15 is supplied with the
camera; AA batteries are available separately).
The information display shows the type of
battery inserted in the MB-D15 as follows:
