Closing the switcher

Reinstall any cables removed. To plug a self latching cable into the desired
receptacle, align the holes in the connector with the pins in the
receptacle, and press evenly until the receptacle tabs lock into
place.

Place the top cover (CrossPoint 84, 88, 124, and 128) and/or front cover (all
models) in place and replace all the screws removed in Opening the switcher on
page B-2.
Swapping the serial ports
The CrossPoint switchers are factory configured for RS-232 use. If you want to use
RS-422 and the switcher is configured for RS-232, or if you want to use RS-232 and
the switcher is configured for RS-422, do the following:
1.
Follow the appropriate instructions in Opening the Switcher on page B-2 to gain
access to the interior of your switcher.
2.
Locate the switcher’s front panel board (figure B-3).

On the side of the front panel board that faces the rear of the switcher, locate
the RS-232 ribbon cable. On any CrossPoint model, the RS-422 ribbon cable
receptacle, which is normally empty, is located to the left of the RS-232 ribbon
cable receptacle.

To remove the cable from the current receptacle, press the two receptacle tabs
outward as shown at the left, and pull up gently on the cable
connector to remove it from the receptacle.
5.
To plug the cable into the desired receptacle, align the
holes in the connector with the pins in the receptacle,
and press evenly until the receptacle tabs lock into place.
6.
Reinstall the switcher’s cover. See Closing the
switcher, above.
7.
Attach the power cord to the switcher and to the AC
power source. Make sure the switcher is working
properly.
