Safety instructions
•The illuminated globe is not a toy. Children should use it only under adult supervision.
•The illuminated globe is an electrical appliance if placed on raised surfaces, make sure it is stable to avoid slipping
or falling.
•A damaged cable should only be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified electrician.
•If after unpacking and connecting, the light does not work, make sure the bulb is screwed in tightly.
•Never remove the plug from the socket by pulling on the cord.
•Do not hang or drape anything on the globe.
•Keep these instructions for future reference.
Instructions for assembling the globe
•Screw in the lower part of the arc to the base (see picture A) by turning the base. (See picture B).
Instructions for changing the bulb
CAUTION! Always use the correct bulb size: halogen do not exceed 18 Watt, type E 14, 220-240 Volt.
•Disconnect the globe from the electric supply and wait a few minutes for the bulb to cool down.
•Carefully pull up the meridian arc until the axel comes out of the globe. (See picture 1).
•Hold the meridian arc up and push the globe forward. (See picture 2, arrow direction 2). Be careful not to scratch
the globe with the axel.
•To change the bulb, please use a cloth.
•Now lift out the globe from the lamp base (see picture 2, arrow direction 3) and unscrew the light bulb.
Disposal of plug
- Applicable for globes equipped with UK plug only
If the non rewireable plug is to be cut off, the removed plug should be disposed of carefully as there is a shock
hazard should the plug be inserted into a live socket.
Replacing fuse
- Applicable for globes equipped with UK plug only
This plug is fitted with a 3° fuse. In the event of the fuse failing it should only be replaced by a 3A fuse that
complies with BS1363.
The wires in the main lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
Blue = Neutral & Brown = Live
The wires should be connected to the plug terminals as follows:
Blue – Neutral or black or blue
Brown = Live or red or brown
Do not connect either wire to the earth terminal.
Caring for your globe
•Firstly, unplug your globe and allow it to cool down.
•Clean the surfaces by using a damp cloth.
•Use water only, never use alcohol or other cleaning solvents which would permanently damage the surfaces.
•Do not expose to direct sunlight.
Disposal instructions
•The globe can be disposed of through the normal rubbish collection.
WARRANTY
The product is under warranty for a period of 3 years from the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt as proof
of purchase. This warranty covers all substitutions or repairs due to material or manufacturing defects at our
discretion. This warranty does not cover broken lamp bulbs. Once the warranty has expired, you can send your
globe to the address mentioned below for repairs at your own expense. Your legal rights shall not be limited by our
conditions of warranty. Please phone or email the customer service center regarding the procedure to follow when
your product needs substituting or mending.
