Appendix A: Modulation Sources and Destinations
Pitch Envelope The Main Pitch envelope. This envelope controls the overall pitch,
however if it makes sense within the preset to do so, the envelope
can be used as a modulation source (unipolar).
Amp Envelope The Main Amplitude envelope. This envelope controls the overall
output Volume, however if it makes sense within the preset to do so,
the envelope can be used as a modulation source (unipolar).
Filter Envelope The envelope of the Filters. These envelope control the respective
Filter, however if it makes sense within the preset to do so, the
envelope can be used as a modulation source (unipolar).
Pitch Wheel The value of the Pitch Wheel (bipolar).
Modulation Wheel The MIDI modulation wheel (MIDI Control Change 1) (unipolar).
Breath Controller MIDI Control Change 2 (unipolar).
Foot Controller MIDI Control Change 4 (unipolar).
ExpressionContr MIDI Control Change 11 (unipolar).
CC16 Controller MIDI Control Change 16 (bipolar).
CC17 Controller MIDI Control Change 17 (bipolar).
CC18 Controller MIDI Control Change 18 (bipolar).
CC19 Controller MIDI Control Change 19 (bipolar).
Random Unipolar A random unipolar source. The value of this source is the same if
used in several modulation routing. If you in example route it to filter
and amplitude both will be modulated with the same random
amount . The amount of course changes randomly on each note
being played. Unipolar means that the source is only increasing (or if
applied with negative depth, decreasing) the targets value.
Random Bipolar A random bipolar source. Bipolar means that the source is randomly
increasing or decreasing the target's value.
Alt The Alternate modulation source changes between values of 1 and
-1 for each note. This is useful for modulation effects such as auto-
panning (bipolar).
