Wheel Installation
1. Apply the brakes.
2. Move the gear selec-
tor lever to PARK.
3. Place the wheel in the
correct position on
the wheel hub. Be
sure the valve stem is toward the outside and rotation
arrows on the tire point toward forward rotation.
WARNING! Improperly installed wheels can adversely affect tire
wear and vehicle handling, which can result in serious injury or death.
Always ensure that all nuts are torqued to specification. Do not
service axle nuts that have a cotter pin installed. See your POLARIS
dealer.
4. Attach the wheel nuts and washers and finger tighten.
5. Carefully lower the vehicle to the ground.
6. Torque the wheel nuts to specification. See page 112.
Lights
Poor lighting can result in reduced visibility when driving.
Headlight and taillight lenses become dirty during normal
operation. Clean lights frequently and replace burned out
lamps promptly. Always make sure lights are adjusted prop-
erly for best visibility.
When servicing a halogen lamp, don't touch the lamp with bare
fingers. Oil from your skin leaves a residue, causing a hot spot
that will shorten the life of the lamp.
Brake Lights
When the brake pedal is depressed, the brake light comes on.
Check the brake light before each ride.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Depress the brake pedal. The brake light should come on
after about 10 mm (0.4 in.) of pedal travel. If the light
doesn't come on, check the rear light assembly.
