Software Setup and Operation
Operational Overview
This overview presents a brief description of XSWITCH™ operation, a
summary of the operational modes, and an overview of the main control
panel, the status display, and the special function keys.
System Access and Setup
The XSWITCH is powered on by turning on both rear panel power supply
switches, which illuminate when on. Following power-up, the XSWITCH
initializes. Once initialized, the system the Main Switch Card status infor-
mation appears on the LCD display as shown in
Figure 11 below.

The alpha icon at the bottom right corner indicates the current mode selec-
tion (A,B,C,D, or E). To the left of this icon is the rack frame currently being
displayed. In this case, Rack 0. The Master Module is Rack 0. To switch to
another rack, Use the Function Up and Function Down buttons.
