Introducing the iTX Playout Appliance
The iTX Playout Appliance unit is a 1RU rackmount server that runs the iTX software, which
processes audio/video content and ancillary data as required by scheduled events and
delivers the SD or HD video signal to one or two output channels.
For quick and accurate installation, the iTX Playout Appliance is factory-configured with all
of the required iTX software components and services. The following sections are intended
to provide you with an overview of the unit’s hardware components and guide you through
the few procedures for installing (racking) and setting up the unit for initial use.

This document does not provide information or instructions for
operating the playout server,
using the iTX software or the XG Inside graphics
option

About the iTX Playout Appliance models
The iTX Playout Appliance is available in two models:
• iTX Playout Appliance Single Channel - 1 x input HD/SDI / 1 x HD-SDI Output
• iTX Playout Appliance Dual Channel - 2 x input HD/SDI / 2 x HD-SDI Output
The iTX Playout Appliance Single Channel is equipped with a graphics card allowing it to
accommodate the XG Inside graphics option. The XG Inside graphics option permits
Vertigo graphics scenes to be rendered directly on the iTX Playout Appliance and then
played out with the video clips, live video or still images provided by the iTX Playout Server.
This option is easily added by installing a software component and license. See the
