Installing cage nuts for attaching mounting brackets
Before mounting the chassis in the rack, install cage nuts on the front rack posts for attaching the
mounting brackets:
1.
As shown in
, align the bottom edge of a mounting bracket
with the top flange of a slide rail. Then mark the cage nut installation holes on the front rack post.
The switch comes with the mounting brackets installed. To determine the cage nut installation
holes, remove a mounting bracket from the switch. You can also directly count the square holes
from the top flange of a slide rail, as shown in
2.
Perform the same step to mark the cage nut installation holes on the other front rack post.

Install cage nuts in the marked square holes on the front rack posts, as shown in
.
For the S12516X-AF and S12508X-AF switches, cage nuts are not needed for the top two
marked square holes on the right front rack post.
For the S12504X-AF switch, install cage nuts in all the marked square holes.
