Introduction
The AS-27 is a High Performance Telecommunications Cycling
Tester/Telephone Single Line Simulator. The main purpose of the AS-27 is
to let you thoroughly test your Telecommunication Devices before you sell
them in order to minimize the chance of your customers finding problems, in
the systems they purchase from you, that could have easily been discovered
and corrected, by you, without causing any hassle for your customers.
The AS-27 connects easily, via modular connectors, to your
Telecommunication Device. Just place the switch on the unit to the CYCLE
position and the unit will "RING UP" your Telecommunication Device, wait
for your system to "HANG UP", and then wait three seconds and repeat the
process. You can also add an audio signal, as part of the test, through the
AUDIO in/out jack on the AS-27. Should you need to perform more
complicated testing, involving the use of touch tones, etc., just place the
switch on the unit to the NORMAL position and connect a telephone to the
TELEPHONE jack on the unit. The AS-27 will start a call sequence (with
optional DIAL TONE before dialing) as soon as you take your telephone
"OFF HOOK"; and it also provides a "WINK" disconnect to your system
when you "HANG UP" your telephone. When the AS-27 starts to "RING
UP" the Telecommunication Device, the unit will provide a simulated RING
BACK signal, to the telephone during each ring phase. The AS-27 provides
you with a Bi-Directional AUDIO jack for recording HIGH QUALITY
AUDIO into a Telecommunication Device.
