The PPP connection using TCP/IP can be set up as a standard Windows Dial Up
networking connection or it can be part of the connecting application. When you use
Packet Data service, Globalstar™ acts as your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Post-Installation Checks
2.3.8.1
Voltage/resistance checks
Do not attach the STX100-000 until the following conditions are met.
Check the following:
a) P103
pins
<1> and <2> for +28 Vdc relative to ground.
b) P103
pins
<14>, <15>, and <16> for continuity to ground (below 0.5
Ω).
Ensure that the antenna is disconnected for the following test or erroneous
readings may be obtained.
c)
Radio coax connectors (RX and TX) for continuity to the antenna coax connector
(shield and center conductor), and for open circuit from the center conductor to
ground and open circuit from the center conductor to the shield.
Note: The STX100-000 is shipped from NAT in a deactivated state. The unit must be
registered with and activated by Globalstar™ before the following tests can be
conducted. Please refer to the information sheet packaged with the STX100-000
for registration details.
2.3.8.2
Power On Checks, Voice
a)
Install the STX100-000 and associated components. Power up the aircraft’s
systems, and make the necessary selections on the audio control panel(s) to
select the STX100-000 system for voice operation.
b)
With the aircraft outside the hangar, use the PTA12 control panel (and/or
handset) to initiate a call and establish two-way communications.
Note: You can place a free (no air-time charge) ‘test call’ to the local gateway by
dialing #8378. If the call is successfully completed, you will hear a
recorded message from the gateway, welcoming you to the Globalstar™
system.
