Recorder: This program streams time data directly to your disk. You can also playback your data
immediately with the Playback functionality of this program. Files can be saved as .THD (Time History
Data) files, or exported to an ASCII Type 58 Universal File Format.
FAS Playback Control: This program allows you to recall your FAS data files, and your .THD recorded
files without having the Medallion Hardware present.

SPL (Signal Processing Language) is the basic interactive means for controlling the analyzer from a DOS
window.

Batches may be created, and loaded into function keys by creating an MS-DOST batch file and
programming the function keys. The INITA.BAT file is provided with the Medallion FAS software for
an example.
All SPL commands are MS-DOST programs. To determine the usage of a command, just type its name,
except for RANGE, TITLE, and LLOC, at the command line, and the usage will appear. Then reissue the
command with the appropriate arguments.
MATLAB
The Medallion may be further extended using SPL commands and post-processing the results in
MATLAB. This relies upon using the MATLAB command “UNIX” to issue SPL commands for data
acquisition. Please refer to the “.M” files included with the Medallion distribution diskettes for
examples of how to use Time, Auto, Cross, and Time History files.
