Medallions are built to take advantage of the Windows operating systems and off-the-shelf PCs.

Inside each Medallion there is an analog to digital converter with anti-aliasing filters for each channel.
The synchronous sampling of all channels assures accurate, phase relationships and the correlation of
data from multiple channels.

The interface between the Medallion and your PC/Controller is a type III PCMCIA card. A proprietary
chip set on the card provides the digital signal processing of both time history and FFT analysis data.
A four-megabyte buffer helps to insure gapless data independent of available processor memory.

The Medallion may be configured many ways. Your instrument may be a 2-, 4-, 6-, or 8-channel data
acquisition module. We also configure the Medallion in metal or plastic high impact resistant NEMA
boxes, typically used in plants.

When the PC/Controller is connected to an Ethernet LAN, file server, or internet/intranet you can
instantly share machine conditions or your problem analysis solutions with associates.

The Medallion may be operated using one of four methods: Graphical interactive, SPL interactive, SPL
via DOS batch, or MATLAB script files. Regardless of the operation method, prior to actual use it is
essential that the DSP program is loaded into the Medallion DSP PCMCIA Card, the Medallion is
initialized, and system communications are working.

Graphical Interactive Programs

eZ-Analyst: This software package provides all the control features for your Medallion Data
Acquisition system as well as full featured FFT analysis. It’s ideal for Modal Analysis, Operating
Deflection Shape Analysis, Machine Tool Analysis, and general time and frequency applications where
the test article is in a constant response mode.

eZ-Record: eZ-Record captures gapless, alias free data (up to the selected bandwidth) and streams it
directly to your disk. Live data can ve viewed on a channel-by-channel basis.

Medallion Rotate: After using the Recorder to capture rotating data, you can access this program via a
button click in the Recorder program. Medallion Rotate allows you to view your data in a variety of
plots, from spectral to waterfall and color contour.

eZ-NDT: eZ-NDT is a Non-Destructive Testing program that uses Resonant Inspection to determine
the quality of structures/objects. It can be used for spot-checking or inline production testing.

TOMAS (Temporary Online Monitoring and Analysis Software): TOMAS is designed to collect
vibration and process data from rotating machinery. Temporary means you can move this monitoring
system to any machine in trouble. This software is project oriented, easy to setup, and run.

Ez-Bal: This is a multi-plane, multi-sensor balancing application available as a stand-a-lone program or
used with the Medallion for automated data acquisition.

FAS (Fundamental Acquisition Software): This Data Acquisition Program performs standard vibration
data acquisition and analysis of structures. FAS processed data may be saved into standard Medallion
files or into STAR compatible files. You can also export this data to either a Binary or ASCII Type 58
Universal File Format or to an ASCII Spreadsheet format.
