Typically, drivers only need to be installed once. They do not have to be upgraded each time that you
upgrade your software.
Assemble and connect your Medallion Data Acquisition Module before installing drivers. Please see
Hardware Assembly.
There are separate Medallion Drivers for Windowsr95T and Window NT. Please use the appropriate set
of installation instructions for your operating system.

Start Windows.

Insert the Medallion Suite CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
3.
Insert the Medallion DSP into the PCMCIA socket. Connect and apply power to the Medallion
Data Acquisition Module as described in the Hardware Assembly section.

When the Medallion DSP is inserted in the PCMCIA socket, Windows 95 will display the “New
Hardware found” wizard, and allow you to specify which driver to install.

Click on the second item, “Driver from disk provided by hardware manufacturer,” then click
OK. This will open the “Install From Disk” window.

In the Install From Disk window, click the Browse button. This will open the Open window.

In the Open window, the folder section should show Drive D\, and the file section should show
“zonic.inf.”

Click the OK button to insert “zonic.inf” into the file name data entry box.

Click the OK button again to confirm you selection, close this window and open the Install
From Disk window.
7.
In the Install From Disk window, notice that “Copy manufacturer’s files from:” now contains the
folder where the “zonic.inf” file is located. Click the OK button. This will open the Select Device
panel.
8.
In the Select Device window, highlight “Medallion DSP” if it isn’t already highlighted for you.
Click the OK button. After a delay of 5 to 10 seconds, both the Select Device and the New
Hardware Panel windows will disappear and a picture of a PCMCIA card will appear in the lower
right corner of your task bar.
Your computer/controller is now ready to run the Medallion software and communicate with the
Medallion front-end.
Note: If your are a MATLAB user or if you plan to use the SPL feature of the Medallion please see
“Edit your Autoexec.bat File” for additional setup instructions.
