Description
Monobond
® Plus is a universal primer promoting an adhesive
bond between luting composites (particularly the Variolink
and Multilink product lines) and all indirect restorative mate-
rials (glass and oxide ceramics, metal, composites, fiber-rein-
forced composites).
Composition
Alcohol solution of silane methacrylate, phosphoric acid
methacrylate and sulphide methacrylate.
Indication
Monobond Plus serves as bonding agent and is used to
create a durable chemical bond between luting composites
and glass/oxide ceramic, metal, composite and fiber-rein-
forced composite restorations.
Contraindications
– Any use not listed in the indications.
– If a patient is known to be allergic to any of the ingredi-
ents of Monobond Plus.
Side effects
To date, no systemic side effects are known.
In rare cases, components of Monobond Plus may lead to
sensitization. Monobond Plus should not be used in such
cases.
Interactions
Contamination with saliva, blood or water must absolutely
be avoided during the entire procedure.
Application
Adhesive cementation of prosthetic restorations:

Preparing the restoration
1.1 Glass-ceramic restorations (e.g. IPS Empress ® )
– Etch with 5% hydrofluoric acid (e.g. IPS ® Ceramic Etch-
ing Gel) for 60 seconds or according to the instructions
of the manufacturer of the restorative material.
– Thoroughly rinse with water spray and dry with oil-free
air.
