Test Reading with OMR
Before you start a job with reading, execute a test to ensure that:
• The system finds the reading code on the document.
• The reading code is of sufficient quality.
To test reading:
1.
From the Settings Menu, press
[Reading]
.
2.
Press the
[Test reading]
button.
3.
Select an OMR job. Use your own reading job or use the default test OMR job.
4.
Press the
[Test]
button and follow the instructions on screen.
The system tries to locate the OMR marks on the sheet.
If the system indicates 'No OMR read', check the following:
• The system could not find marks on the sheet, because of
page 37.
• The system read marks, but it did not match OMR as defined in the system. Contact
the service organization for more information on the OMR definition.
Process Mail Sets with OMR
To process mail sets with OMR, select an OMR job or proceed as follows:
The reading settings for OMR / BCR are set in the reading menu.

1.
Load the documents and envelopes into the feeders. Place the documents with the
OMR codes in the main document feeder, see for more information about the
orientation:
on page 43.
2.
If necessary, change the fold type. A Z-fold is not possible.
3.
Press Reading
icon and choose Optical Marks (OMR).
4.
Press the Test run
[1x]
icon to create one mail set and follow the instructions on
screen.
5.
Press the green
[Start]
button to start the mail set production.
