Adjust the belt height in such a way that
the shoulder belt is routed over the middle
of the shoulder.
Belt sash guide with height adjustment
5 Release button
̈ To raise the belt height: slide belt
sash guide 1 upward.
Belt sash guide 1 engages in various
positions.
̈ To lower the belt height: press and
hold release button 5.
̈ Slide belt sash guide 1 to the desired
height.
̈ Let go of release button 5 and make
sure that belt sash guide 1 engages.
The SRS (Supplemental Restraint System)
may consist of the following components,
depending on the equipment level:
ț 1 warning lamp
ț Emergency tensioning retractors
ț Belt force limiters
ț Airbag system with:
ț Airbag control unit
ț Airbags
1 warning lamp
The SRS performs a self-test at regular in-
tervals when the ignition is switched on
and while the engine is running. Malfunc-
tions can therefore be detected in good
time.
The 1 warning lamp in the instrument
cluster (
୴ page 14) comes on for approxi-
mately 4 seconds when you switch on the
ignition.

A malfunction has occurred if the 1
warning lamp:
ț does not come on when you switch on
the ignition
ț does not go out after approximately 4
seconds
ț lights up again
Individual systems may be activated unin-
tentionally or may not be triggered in the
event of an accident with a high rate of vehi-
cle deceleration.
