What to do if ...

# The red battery charge warning
lamp lights up while the engine is
running.
WARNING

The battery is not being charged. Possible
causes:
ț malfunctioning alternator
ț torn poly-V-belt
̈ Stop immediately and check the poly-
V-belt.
If it is torn:
̈ Do not drive any further. Consult
the nearest authorized Sprinter
Dealer.
If it is not damaged:
̈ Have your vehicle checked at an
authorized Sprinter Dealer.
The battery is malfunctioning. ̈ Stop your vehicle as soon as it is safe
to do so.
̈ Do not drive any further.
̈ Contact a breakdown service, an au-
thorized Sprinter Dealer.
2 The yellow brake pad wear indica-
tor lamp lights up after the engine
is started or while the vehicle is in
motion.

The brake pads/linings have reached their
wear limit.
̈ Have the brake pads/linings replaced
as soon as possible at an authorized
