Troubleshooting the Feed tray
This section describes what to pay attention to when using the feed tray.
Problem
Possible Cause and Action to Take
Paper is caught on the feed tray /
You cannot pull out the tray smoothly.
You may need to pull out the feed tray to remove a jammed sheet on the
far end of the feed tray. The feed tray has a spring on its right. Hold the
tray in the way shown below without contacting the spring, and pull the
tray out.
1 Pull the tray until it stops.
2 Lift the front side of the tray
diagonally upward, and pull out the
tray.
3 Remove the jammed sheet.
4 Align the white projections on both
sides of the tray with the rails, and
return the tray.
Lift the front side of the tray diagonally
upward, and insert it into the rails. Next,
horizontalize the tray, and push it in.
To hold the tray, place your right hand on the front cover part
of the tray, and place your left hand on the far left part,
located diagonally across your other hand, for proper
balance. If you hold the front part with both of your hands
and pull the tray, the end may drop due to the tray's weight.
