DISMANTLING
A set of blades for the vertical scarifier consists of 15 blades'
and is available from your retailer. The spare part number is
371 92 45. (Ulus. 5b) ,
• Remove the electrical plug from the socket.
• Clean the machine. Brush.away soil and gravel.
Do not wash with water!
• Remove the belt-guard (9).
• Remove driviqg belt by pulling it off the spindle pulley.
• The bearing housings are secured to the insides of the
chassis'with 8 self tapping screws. Unscrew the latter. (On
the drive side, the uppermost screws are reached.through
a hole in the blade shaft pulley (5 and 5a). ■
• The blade shaft can novy be pushed down.
DISMANTLING THE BLADES
Clamp the blade shaft vertically in a vise with the:belt pulley
down-wards. N.B! Do not damage it! Part the bearing housing.
Grip the blades with one hand and restrain while you release
and remove the nut on the upper end. Subsequently washers,
bearing housing, spacers and blades can be dismantled.
Clean all the items which have to bereassembled before the
new blades are fitted. Dp not dismantle anything on the belt
side except when replacing a bearing.
FITTING THÉ blades
® Place the new blades on a fable as in the sketch 5b.
» Begin the assembly with a small spacer (1).
• Thereafter a blade as in position 1,5b.
» Assemble a large spacer (1).
® Thereafterabladeasinposition2.Andsoon.
Finish with a small spacer, thrust washer (3) (right way round,)
bearing (4), washer (5), and nut (7). Assemble the. bearing
housing (inol. the case).
• When fitting into the chassis, ensure that the bearing
housings fit into the recesses.
• Secure with 8 self-tapping screws (8).
• Check that the shaft runs freely, by turning it round with the
belt pulley.
• Fit the belt.
• Fit the belt guard with 3 self-tapping screws (9).
IF THE MACHINE WILL NOT START, CHECK THAT:
• The'electric cable is connected..
• Thefuseisintact.
• The cable is undamaged.
• The overloadprotector has not been actuated.
• Thebladesarenotjammed.
• The belt pulley is intact.
IF THE MACHINE VIBRATES CHECK THAT;
• The shaft is not bent.
• The blades are not broken.
• No objects have become jammed in the blades.
