4. Troubleshoot
This page provides the information regarding frequently asked questions about CS-CAN
and how to solve the problems.
1. CS-CAN does not work properly.
Check if 5V of power is supplied to CS-CAN.
Connect CS-CAN with RS232 port in your PC and check the configuration for
the serial communication.
(If you do not know the settings for serial communication, please use the auto
detect feature in CS-CAN utility which was provided with the product.)
Check CS-CAN status. If you are in Configuration mode, CAN Frame will not
be transmitted.
Check internal ID and mask value in CS-CAN, and determine if the Message
ID is filtered or not.
Check the error code whether they are Bus off or in Passive/Warning Mode.
2. There are some data loss from CS-CAN.
Speed in CAN communication is faster than the one in RS232, therefore, if
data through CAN bus is transmitted continuously, there can be a data loss.
This is caused by unsynchronized speed between RS232 and CAN
communication where it can be solved by setting the Baud rate of RS232 to
115200bps.
The length of CAN bus and its Baud rate are inversely proportional. Check the
CAN Baud rate and CAN bus length.
