Solder tip cleaner & re-tinner
SOLDER TIP CLEANER & RE-TINNER
Lead-Free and Low-Fume. Removes oxidation from soldering iron
tips for quick & easy re-tinning that extends the tip life and provides
a smooth soldering surface for optimum soldering performance!
Heat soldering iron to at least 400°F and insert the soldering iron’s
tip into the tip cleaner for a few seconds. The soldering iron’s tip
should be clean & shiny when removed from cleaner.
Immediately melt solder onto the iron’s tip, completely coating and
re-tinning the soldering surfaces. Note: If you wait too long and the tip
begins to re-oxidize, simply dip it in the cleaner again briefly.
If the soldering iron’s tip has more than just a light oxidation that does NOT get
removed by the cleaner, the iron’s tip can be lightly sanded with 600-800 grit
sandpaper (after iron is allowed to completely cool down!) to remove heavier
oxidation. Re-heat the iron and repeat the cleaning and re-tinning procedure.
• If tip still does not clean & re-tin, it may be time to replace it •
Meets RoHS & REACH standards. Precautions should be taken to avoid contact with eyes,
mouth, & skin. Always observe good housekeeping and personal hygiene measures such
as washing hands after handling the material and before eating, drinking, and/or smoking.
