Novak Brushless Motor: Brushless Sensor Harness Removal & Replacement (55-535X-1) User Manual
Ballistic sensor harness removal and replacement
To ensure that the Brushless Shielded Sensor Harness (#5351-#5353)
does not disconnect from the Ballistic Brushless Motor accidentally,
the Ballistic end bell was designed to secure the end of the sensor
harness snuggly in its connector. As a result, the removal of the
harness requires special attention to avoid damage.
1. Note the timing setting on the motor.
2. Using a 1.5 mm wrench, loosen the three flat head screws holding
the end cap and sensor assembly in place.
3. Once loosened, grasp the sensor harness as close to the connector
as possible.
4. Gently “walk” the sensor harness connector out of the motor’s
connector by wiggling the sensor harness connector from side to side.
You may need to pull up slightly on the harness because there is
a small lip on the end bell that may impede a smooth removal
of the sensor harness connector.
5. Once the harness is removed, it can easily be replaced.
6. Reconnect a sensor harness, noting the polarity of the connector.
7. Retighten the three 1.5 mm screws into the end cap, ensuring that
the timing setting is still set to the previously noted position.
