NSTALLATION

Ensure the Trunk Cable that is

routed to your Main Roll Sensor has

enough slack for the movement of
the center section and roll frame.
The cable must be routed up the
center of the roll frame and out to
the sensor.

1. Route the Roll Control Valve Cable (C70)

from the Power Cable (44650-14 (C10), see
standard installation manual) in the cab to
the rear of the sprayer. Follow the
previously installed valve cable and trunk
cable, and use cable ties to secure in place.

C70 comes with one connector

unassembled to allow the cable to be
run through a hole in the floor under
the steering column. To assemble the
connector, refer to the drawing in
Section 5.1. The pins require a special
tool to remove if an error is made.

2. Plug the 2-pin shroud on the Roll Control

Valve Cable to the 2-pin tower on the
Power Cable.

3. Connect the terminal ground ring on the

Roll Control Valve Cable (C70) to the same
location as the NORAC Valve Cable (44658-
01) ground ring as in the standard

installation.

A good electrical connection MUST

exist between this terminal and the
frame
. A good location is the bolt
holding the John Deere factory wiring
harness next to the large connector
at the rear of the sprayer frame.
Clean paint or corrosion from
around this connection if necessary.

The ground ring on the junction

cable must be attached directly to

the sprayer frame, NOT the parallel
linkage. Improper ground can cause
the UC4 Boom Control System to
switch from Automatic mode into
Manual mode.

4. Connect the Roll Control Valve Cable to

the 3

rd

station expansion block. The

connector labeled Bias-Up goes on the side
of the valve block with the hydraulic hoses.

5. Connect the 4-pin square connector on the

roll control cable (C70) to the roll
connector on the JD harness (Figure 20).

6. Locate the 4 pin AMP connection on the

sensor branch cable (C02 - cable routed to
the sensors).

7. Disconnect the connector and insert cable

C71 between the two connectors.

Reconnect all the AMP connectors.

8. Route the free end of C71 to the roll

control sensor and connect it to the sensor
connector.

It is recommended to follow existing

cables or hoses when routing the
cables.
