6. MANUAL RECORDING
Use the 'Manual recording' function to spontaneously start
recording (e.g. to record a TV show already in progress).
□ Please refer to section 'Recording without automatic
switch-off', if you want to manually start and stop your
own recording.
□ Please refer to section 'Recording with automatic
switch-off', if you would like to start your own recording
but want it to end automatically (e.g. not to record all the
way to the end of the cassette).
G Please refer to section 'Automatic recording from a
satellite receiver', if a recording is to be controlled
automatically via a satellite receiver.
Recording without automatic switch-off
m Place a cassette in the machine.
[2] Use the button I tp -H lor U p - Ito select the
programme number which you would like to record from,
e.g. 'P01'. This picture will appear on the screen:

If you would like to turn off the screen during the
recording, press the button I standby (bl.
To switch the screen back on again, press the
I tp -n button.
With the screen switched off you can only stop a
recording in process by pressing the button
I STANDBY (b1 for more than 3 seconds.
During a recording you can also switch to other TV
channels.

Recording with automatic switch-off
(OTR one-touch-recording)
m Place a cassette in the machine.
m Use I tp -H lor U p - Ito select the programme number
of the TV channel you wish to record.
m Press the I
record •! button on the remote control.

Press the I
record ♦! button on the remote control several
times to add 30 minutes to the recording time.
To cancel this entry, press the ICLEARiCDibutton.
The recording time can be extended only to up to 4
hours.
If a TV channel sends a channel name, this is
displayed on the screen.
Programme number 'El' is provided for recording
from external sources (via the I ext Iscart socket).
Programme number 'AV' is for recording from the
audio and video front sockets.
m To record the TV programme, press the button
IRECORD»! on the remote control or the button [•]on the
TV-Video Combi.

During recording, the recording lamp ' record ®' on
the front of the machine lights up. The following will
appear on the screen;

Use the button roiDto display the current tape
position on the screen.
s Stop recording with the I stop B [button.
Protecting your recordings
So that you don't accidentally delete an important recording,
remove the special tab on the narrow side of the cassette with
a screwdriver or slide the special tab to the left. Later, if you
no longerwantto protectyour recording,you can sealthe gap
again with sticky tape or slide the special tab to the right.
