8.3.2 Setup
1. After starting FT-16(D) wait until the main menu appears on the screen.
2. Then press “Alt + F9” buttons simultaneously and you will see ( C:\TARTIM ) on the screen.
3. You must return to the main directory C:\ by typing “cd.. ”.
4. Afterwards you have to write “edit” and press the button before you will see a new menu.
5. Press
“Alt + F” buttons simultaneously and select “Open” from the menu.
6. Now you should select the file “Autoexec.bat” with the up and down arrows.
7. Then you have to select “Save” from the file menu.
8. You
can “Exit” the menu.
Following information has to be added to the file “Autoexec.bat” of FT-16(D):
After the command “net logon” the user name (e.g. CHRISTIAN) and the password (e.g. 1111).
And in the next row the computer name (e.g. MACHINE1) and file name (e.g. scale; the file which takes the
transferred data).

Open a directory (C:\scale) and share it (When sharing the file the check box “Network users can change data”
must be enabled).
IP address
We must enter the connection data in the setup menu of FT-16(D).
1. At the DOS prompt we have to enter “C:\setup” after C:\ and press .
2. Select “Change Network Configuration” from the new menu.
3. Select “Microsoft TCP/IP” from the upper box.
4. Select “Change Settings” from the lower box. You can toggle between the menus with the tab button.
5. Press enter and configure the IP data. In the setup menu of FT-16(D) the IP data must be as follows:
IP Address: 192.168.16.* (* = the last octet of the IP must be different)
Sub Net Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.16.24
For example:
IP Address: 192.168.16.142
Sub Net Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.16.24
For setting the PC’s IP Address you must right click to the local network connection at my network connections
menu and select the properties option. Then you must enter the IP address data.
IP address 192.168.16.142
Sub Net mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.16.24
